    Interesting article, @Zooramey! At first glance, I did exactly what you did 😲(gasped) but I liked her giving alternatives and additions to walks. She's not saying don't exercise them, she's saying there are other forms of mental and physical exercise that will enrich your dog's lives. Thanks for sharing it!

    1. Thank you for sharing. I actually recommend not walking the dog for many of my behavior patients. Walks can be overwhelming for many reactive and fearful dogs. There are many other ways to provide mental enrichment and burn calories like scent work, puzzle toys, and playing with a flirt pole that doesn't require you to leave the yard.

    Same here.  Walks are super distressing for many fearful and other dogs. They also don't provide as much aerobic / other exercise as play does, except maybe for the littles. And since many folks don't allow much sniffing/wandering on leash walks, there isn't always a lot of enrichment involved either.
