My org is interested in expanding our fospice program. I am looking for SOPs, templates, best practices, and insight into the pet selection process for orgs who are offering foster for hospice pets. What are the greatest advantages & disadvantages of maintaining a program like this? We are hoping to fold this into our existing Foster Care program, but are there other options that can help elderly/terminally ill pets?

Have you considered hospice adoptions instead? We prefer to process an adoption but offer the same services foster would like ongoing care for any existing medical issues and end of life service when vet and adopter determine it is most appropriate.
