Thanks to all the attendees on this morning's call. If you were unable to make it live, you can now watch the recording on-demand here. Don't forget that whether you watch live or on-demand, complete this form to be entered to win a grant for the month of March just for tuning in!

Thanks to our panelists @Abbie Moore, @Clare Callison, @Allison Cardona, Stephanie Frommer, @Luis Quintanilla, and @alisha vianello for a thought-provoking discussion about removing barriers from the adoption process. Here are some of the questions posted in the chat during the call. Panelists and forum members, please share your answers and thoughts in this thread.

    • Do open adoptions include a visual home check? yard check?
    • Can you speak more to why you find the FaceTime home check even more intrusive?
    • Do you adopt to people who had previously surrendered a pet to you? or surrendered to others?
    • Is every person entitled to every pet? Does "barrier-free adoption" mean that I have to adopt a cat to someone that is going to declaw that cat? or adopting to people who will keep the pet in extreme temperatures?
    • What about asking for an apartment/rental agreement?
    • Our County zoning will not allow more than three dogs per household unless you live in a rural area. Would you deny them if they revealed they already have three?
    • Appropriate to ask about income on 'applications'?

    Agenda

    • Welcome – Bobby Mannmann@americanpetsalive.org
    • Question of the day: Where are you from and what do you love to do OUTSIDE of work?
