    Hello All!
Last week, the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association (MCVMA) launched our new webinar series "Beyond the Page: Meet the Authors Shaping DEI in Veterinary Medicine."  Beyond the Page, is a groundbreaking webinar series that brings the voices behind the first comprehensive DEI publications to be publicly available to all directly to the veterinary and animal welfare professions. Thanks to a generous grant from Maddie's Fund®, MCVMA secured permanent open access to the two-volume series Veterinary Clinics: Small Animal Practice – DEI in Veterinary Medicine, Parts 1 & 2, published by Elsevier. Edited by Dr. Christina V. Tran and authored by nationally recognized leaders, these 20+ peer-reviewed articles explore critical topics like access to care, inclusive leadership, diversifying veterinary technician specialities, allyship, and more.

Now available free to read and share at mcvma.org/publications, this series represents a transformative resource for equity in veterinary medicine and animal welfare.

Beyond the Page takes this knowledge further-offering live, interactive conversations with featured authors. Each webinar focuses on a specific chapter, giving attendees the chance to explore the research, ask questions, and consider practical applications in daily practice and education. We're so grateful that Maddie's Fund also helped this series go live so more people committed to a more inclusive ecosystem for pets and their families could be reached!

Last week's webinar is now available for viewing on our YouTube Channel here. We spoke with Dr. Michael Blackwell, Director of Pet Health Equity at the University of Tennessee Knoxville about his chapter on increasing access to care. It was such an inspiring conversation! We hope you'll watch and join us in the work to make care for families more accessible.

This Tuesday, October 14 we're hosting the second webinar in the series with Veterinary Technician Specialists Stephen Niño Cital and Camia Tonge. We'll discuss their chapter "Diversifying the Veterinary Technician Specialist Pipeline." Their insights extend beyond technician roles, offering valuable takeaways for veterinarians, practice managers, social workers, hospital administrators, and anyone in the animal welfare space seeking to build more inclusive, effective, and equitable teams that support the wide range of diversity among our clients.

**Bonus: Attendees will be entered to win two tickets to our one of a kind virtual CE Conference, RISE Remix, on November 22!**

We hope you'll join us go "Beyond the Page" on October 14, 2025 | 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET
