Not sure my answer is that relevant since I am at a municipal agency and we are self-insured by the city, however when I ran the Humane Society we got a letter showing we were insured from our insurance company; not anything specific for off-site adoption events.
Do you already have some kind of insurance to do adoptions, etc? I would say just ask them for a proof of insurance letter to submit to the store.

Subject: Need Commercial Insurance for a Foster-Based Kitten Rescue in Florida
Hello & Meow!
Does anyone have an insurance company that will write a policy for a Foster-Based Kitten Rescue in FLORIDA?!? We are wanting to hold adoption events at pet stores, but need insurance in case a kitten scratches or bites someone. I am struggling to find an insurance company that understands what we need, let alone will write a policy!
PS. I did search the knowledgebase and could not find any information and I had no idea what topics to choose, so I guessed. LOL!
