Hello everyone,
My name is Daniel. I am a healthcare administrator, educator, and a solo software engineer. In 2024-25, in collaboration with a small community of fosters in Portland, Oreogn, I developed Foster Kitten, an iOS and web app built to support fosters of kittens ages 1-day to 12 weeks.
Foster Kitten helps fosters log daily health metrics (weight, stool, feeding, emesis, URI etc.) on a mobile device (or any device with a browser), stores the data in the cloud, and surfaces patterns grounded in reputable clinical models (like those affirmed by ASPCA, Maddie's, National Kitten Coalition, Koret etc.).
I am joining the Animal Welfare Professionals forum to continue learning from caregivers and better support their work. I am always excited to hear from and collaborate with fosters, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and shelter coordinators.
