    If you've been advising residents to try to determine if a cat is owned or has caretakers before requesting intake, you've probably told them to affix a "paper collar" to the cat which asks if anyone is caring for this kitty. (And if you aren't doing this, consider it!)

    Here is a handy paper cat collar template from our friends at the Community Cat Coalition! How great would it be to print these off and have them available in the lobby or on ACO trucks to help folks support cats where they are?

    This is a great resource! I am going to add it to my return to home presentations. So often we forget about gets when we think about lost pet reunification. Thanks for sharing.

    This is a super neat idea! Does anyone have a recommendation for how long to wait for a response? 48 hours?

    HI Lindsay;

       Organizations in Massachusetts have been using paper collars for years and they usually wait a week for a response before taking action.

    Thanks, Stacy

    I would agree with a week as community cats may be visiting multiple homes, people, and trekking all over the neighborhood.
