Updated 4/7 at 4:15pm - Recording now available!

Join us for the first huddle of the We Foster Challenge tomorrow, April 6th at 11am PT! Each huddle will last 60 minutes with 40 minutes for presentations by our guest speakers followed by time for Q&A.

First up, we will hear from @Jackie Noble from the San Diego Humane Society and @aly martinez from the Pensacola Humane Society who will share ideas of how you can help make your foster program and processes/policies, equitable and inclusive of the entire community.

We encourage you to review the list of welcoming practices and examples that we will explore in further detail in our weekly huddles. As a reminder, all huddles will be recorded so if you're unable to make it to the live call tomorrow, this thread will be updated with the recording when it's ready. You can also use this thread to ask follow-up questions to our presenters.

You can register for all of the Zoom huddles here: https://maddiesfund-org.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUqcOCgpzsjHdBwJJjQMRKlGmTYFewmVOee

I'm looking forward to seeing you all at the first huddle!

Great first session! I believe it was mentioned that someone would be posting the program guides/manuals somewhere. Are those posted already? We are working on updating ours so I would love to see those other ones as examples!

    Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the first huddle and shout out to our awesome hostess @Amber Eby for leading the discussion! If you were unable to make the call or would like to share the recording with another member of your staff, you can access the recording here: https://youtu.be/p5mWUdhklbI

We spent some time talking about Trello and these resources were shared in the chat to help give you an idea of how animal welfare organizations can use it to communicate with their staff, volunteers and showcase information about pets available for foster or adoption:

      - Video of Aly walking through How PHS Uses Trello: https://youtu.be/VflfXfzv8lk
      - How
Austin Pets Alive! uses Trello: https://chewonthis.maddiesfund.org/2018/07/trello/

While Trello has a free version, they also offer nonprofit discounts:  https://help.trello.com/article/1092-nonprofit-educational-discounts

We'll reach out to Aly and get the foster manual that was mentioned on the call and update this thread when we have it. If you have a foster manual that your organization uses, please feel free to upload it here as well!
