    Hi everyone,

The HASS Behavior Job-Alike group meets monthly to connect and learn about behavior. Meetings are usually an hour, but our October session will be 90 minutes.  These meetings are for anyone who is interested - you don't need to be behavior staff or a behavior volunteer to join.  We have  behavior staff, foster staff, veterinarians, volunteers, shelter managers, directors, etc. on these calls.

One of the guiding principles of the HASS Behavior Support Working Group is to work toward adhering to Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive principles. In this special 90 minute session, let's talk LIMA :)   I'm excited to announce that during our meeting at 9 am PT on October 28, 2021, Mara Velez will be talking to us about "Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA): How does "Least" and "Minimally" fit into behavior modification?"  You'll learn about the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) ethical principle and explore three case studies that illustrate the use of LIMA to address problem behaviors.

Register for the behavior job-alike meeting here.   After you submit your registration, be sure to click on 'add to calendar' on the next screen, to be certain to get the meeting added to your calendar.   If you've already registered in the past few weeks, and have 'Behavior Job-Alike in your calendar, you do NOT need to register again.  If you're not sure, i can check for you.

    Brief Bio: Mara Velez
