Be sure to complete this form to enter to win a grant after attending the live call or watching on-demand: https://www.maddiesfund.org/friday-community-conversations-jun22-giveaway.htmPlease note: All views expressed on Community Conversations calls are not necessarily endorsed by Maddie's Fund.
Hi Everyone,
Please join us tomorrow for our final Friday Animal Welfare Leadership Round-up call before a two week summer break. After our break, our brand new combined Monday/Friday call will begin. You will be receiving registration instructions soon! We know things are really tough right now.
Tomorrow, we will have our final meeting to discuss collective actions to respond to the current situation in animal shelters. We have spent three meetings so far on this topic because it is impacting so many. We are going to add one, final conversation about this so we can translate conversation into action!
If your shelter is struggling with space, resources, short-staffing, or morale and you are interested in being part of collective action to inspire our communities to help, please try to join us for this meeting. If this is not an issue for you or you don't wish to be part of collective action, you can probably skip this one and rejoin us in July when we reconvene after the Best Friends conference and our summer recess.
When we return, we will be meeting on a different day and time (announcement forthcoming) and will once again have a lineup of external speakers from various fields, backgrounds, and subject matter experts. If you would like to be a speaker or to suggest a speaker for late summer 2022, please reach out to me directly at
kristen.hassen@americanpetsalive.org.
Here is our agenda for tomorrow:
1. Welcome and updates
2. Recap of previous three meetings and status update (what we have done since the last meeting
3. Check in with the current situation for shelters
4. National adoption event schedule
5. Final decision on the what
6. Date-setting for action and list of what we need
Quick Reminder: You can also watch previous recordings and continue the conversation at Maddie's Pet Forum!
