Topic: Racial Inequity in the Veterinary Profession
Join us as we discuss the barriers and battles for veterinary professionals that are compounded for persons of color. By increasing our awareness (by listening to and honoring lived experiences) of these barriers, we can each contribute to the success of the profession and their role in animal well-being.
The growing shortages in the veterinary field are straining the ability of animal health professionals and animal organizations to provide services to pet owners. Racial inequities are further compounding these challenges in the profession. We can all contribute to positive changes when we increase our own awareness. We will be discussing these lived experiences with four brilliant veterinary professionals.

About Community Conversations:
Maddie’s Fund hosts a weekly hour-long Zoom call for animal well-being professionals. These calls are a collaborative space to share exciting new programs and research, discuss uncomfortable topics, connect with peers in the industry, and more, all while sharing a common goal of preserving the human-animal bond.
This call, recurring each Monday unless otherwise posted, is for executive directors, animal well-being leaders, shelter workers, pet support professionals, volunteers, and rescue organizations.
