No Place Like Home: Foster-Led Adoptions, Marketing, and Holiday Initiatives with Daisy Navin
Foster caregivers know their foster pets best, which makes them the best people to market those pets to adopters. This session shows how the foster team at LifeLine Animal Project equips fosters to lead adoption marketing for the animals in their care. You will learn how fosters take photos, write short bios, and utilize social media to get their adoptable pets seen. The session will also cover Holiday Foster Initiatives, and how they feed the same marketing and adoption pipeline. Attendees will leave with workflows and materials they can adapt for their own foster programs.
Guest Speaker: Daisy Navin, Foster Program Manager at LifeLine Animal Project

Daisy Navin is the Foster Programs Manager at LifeLine Animal Project. She helps run one of the largest foster programs in the country across three locations: Fulton County Animal Services and DeKalb County Animal Services, which are municipal shelters, and the LifeLine Community Animal Center, LifeLine's private nonprofit location. LifeLine works with more than 5,000 foster homes and logs over 13,000 foster outings a year. Daisy cares not only about how many animals get to experience a foster home's love, but the quality of the care she and her team provides their fosters.
She has worked in animal welfare for over five years and fostered for shelters and rescues before that. She still fosters, and her animals have ranged from fragile, fading panleuk bottle babies to behavior cases to a 120-pound matted Pyrenees. Because she has fostered nearly every type of animal, she knows what fosters face at home and makes every decision with it in mind.
Daisy loves strategy, and it's why she thrives in this role. She's a devoted Survivor fan and an avid board game player, and she brings the same long-view planning to building her programs. She aims to bring humor and sunniness to every part of her job. Her biggest brag: in 8 years and roughly 50 fosters, she has foster failed only one dog, and it was one of her pandemic puppies, so can we really blame her?
