This yearly event brings together animal control officers, humane officers, animal care attendants, behaviorists, humane educators, shelter directors, veterinarians, RVTS, customer service representatives, all law enforcement personnel, and other animal-sheltering professionals.

Disaster Response
Disaster planning has become more important than ever as communities are facing unprecedented events that are often resulting in tragedy. Don’t miss this important track to guide you in your community preparedness, managing the response, engaging volunteers, working with the media, and ensuring your team is properly trained for fires. Eligible for CAWA, Humane Officer, and CACO CE Credits.
Field Services
As our industry becomes more progressive in supporting the animals and people in our communities, we are working to shift our perspectives and approach. This track will explore proactive and creative strategies to help pets return home, community-oriented field services, ethics training for officers, and improve safety for officers. Our final session includes some great technical training on crime scene photography to support effective prosecution.

Shelter Medicine
Don’t miss the latest in the continually evolving field of shelter medicine. This session is geared toward veterinarians, RVTs, and other veterinary staff and the content is eligible for CE credits. Learn about the “Four R’s,” the Five Freedom Model in action, building collaboration in the workplace, population management and daily rounds, and the practical uses and legalities around telemedicine.
Eligible for Veterinary CE Credits through Western University.

Sheltering & Outreach
You won’t want to miss this exciting track offering a variety of useful information for animal welfare leaders. Learn about the “Four Rs” from UC Davis, some behind-the-scenes look at common shelter evaluation findings, how to better engage volunteers, training shelter dogs for adoption, and how to up your game in applying for grants!
