From Kitchen to Community

This conversation with Jay Garza explores how a foundation in culinary service, centered on listening, responsiveness, and meaningful experiences, evolved into a broader commitment to community-centered work.

What began as a focus on serving individuals through food grew into a deeper understanding of service as a tool for impact. That lens now informs Jay's approach to animal welfare, where he works to bridge gaps between people, resources, and care.

By centering listening and intention, Jay aims to meet both human and animal needs in a way that is responsive and accessible.

Ultimately, this journey reflects a shift from serving meals to serving communities. "

Wonderful webinar!

I have also incorporated much of my life's experiences into our non-profit for animals. My background was sales and marketing for 25 years in the optical business. I first fell in love with a group of pet parents faced with what looked like an impossible to manage, hopeless disease, canine megaesophagus. I was in with a group for less than a year when a group of us formed an awareness and support group for the disease. It has been one of the most rewarding opportunities I have ever encountered. I don't make a dime on it but the love I witness between  pet parents and animals is priceless.  Thank you Jay for your service and sharing your recipe for success 🙌
