One Health, Two Patients: The Human–Animal Bond in Homeless Health Services

When it comes to healthcare for pet owners experiencing homelessness, the One Health clinical care model is proving to both improve access to veterinary care as well as human healthcare. Established in Seattle in 2018 in a collaboration between the University of Washington’s Center for One Health Research and Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, the One Health Clinic integrates veterinary and human primary care to benefit both members of the family.
