Humane Action Pittsburgh (HAP) is fighting to protect pets by supporting the Protection From Abuse Companion Animal Bill (HB 1210). Pennsylvania is one of ten states that does not allow for companion animals to be included in Protection from Abuse/Domestic Violence orders. The purpose of the bill is to ensure that domestic abuse survivors do not have to choose between seeking safety and leaving beloved companion animals in dangerous situations. The bill has passed through the PA House of Representatives, but has been stalled in the State Senate. If you live in Pennsylvania, please contact your state senator to express support for HB 1210. And if you live in any of the states listed below, please contact your representative and demand protection for companion Animals from Abuse!
