Hi there, we’re in the middle of updating our licensing page and our overall website. We would like to offer an online payment option when purchasing or renewing a pet license. Can anyone recommend a program, WordPress plugins, other options or the best practices to do this successfully? We currently only offer onsite registration.

Hello, we use chameleon web licensing and started this about two years ago. There are occasional hiccups with the system so it isn't perfect but when it works, it works well. Pet owners can go to our website and click a link for pet licensing. As long as they have their rabies certificate, they can renew and pay online. Once we get confirmation, we mail the tag. Good luck.

We use petpoint and the online licensing module works flawlessly. 

Do you offer online payment for any other services that you offer? If so, that's probably the easiest way to go. If not, it's probably worth looking into some of the standard online payment platforms: Square (https://squareup.com/)
and Stripe (https://stripe.com/) seem to be the two big players in this area.

I started using Stripe recently for some things and have been happy with it. As far as I know, both "play nicely" with various web platforms, including WordPress.
