One of my resident cats is positive for Coronavirus. I have 2 questions: 1. How likely is my Coronavirus positive cat to develop FIP? and 2. Should I still foster kittens from my local shelter if I have a resident cat carrier of the Coronavirus?
These are excellent questions! Feline coronavirus (FCV) is not uncommon and doesn't necessarily mean your cat will develop FIP. There is an excellent talk given by Dr. Elizabeth Berliner from Cornell University that I suggest you watch: https://www.maddiesfund.org/assets/documents/Institute/Feline%20Infectious%20Peritonitis%20-%20Transcript.pdf
