Hi all, we are currently developing protocols for dogs and cats that need behavioral medications while in our shelter. Just wondering if anyone has a protocol or outline in terms of what, when and why you prescribe different medications. We currently use trazodone, fluoxetine, and Clomicalm and the goal is to create a guideline in terms of starting with enrichment, nutraceuticals, etc and escalating to prescription meds when necessary instead of just starting with the heavy hitter prescriptions right off the bat.
