    Hi,

I am interested to find out if there are strategies that shelters are using to support staff members when difficult cases come through the shelter. For example, we recently had a few cases of severe neglect as well as cases where the outcome is euthanasia following a period of care in the shelter - as expected, members of the teams are emotionally affected to different degrees. We are hoping to implement a 'debriefing' to support our staff. Any templates already in place?

    Thanks

I have not been through all of this information myself yet, but I recently attended a shelter medicine seminar and one speaker focused on self-care..."Stretch Don't Snap, Improving your Behavioral Flexibility & Resilience" as it relates to animal rescue. Site has several items for free download, too (one attached). I'm sure you could probably contact her for additional information, advice, program design for your location etc. Email link is on the site. <3
