Alice is so naughty. Deliberately difiant. She tries to start s*** with Karma. Tried with Cora but Cora put her in her place so she leaves her alone now. Her kennel/seperation anxiety is off the chart....let me clarify....OFF THE CHART. She constantly chases my cats. Only goes to the bathroom outsode once in awhile. In fact, at kaylas she NEVER went bathroom outside. She messed up kaylas bedroom door and destroyed a lot of their stuff. She has completely destroyed my dog room upstairs.

We do not this she was ever a in side dog. And she is about 7 months old.

She destroyed kennels, so they put her in a room and she destroyed the room.

This is a dog we took in from Texas shelter and need to know the best approach to work with her in the home.

I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. I would strongly suggest seeking the help of a veterinary behaviorist (or a vet that has an interest in behavior cases if no behaviorist is available in your area) so that she can get started on medication and environmental management (i.e. soothing music, enrichment) and access to a trainer that can help with the potty and cat chasing issues. It will take some time and will likely be a lifelong management issue, but it'll be worth it in the end and will be beneficial to both you and the dog.

    Pittiemom,

Where do you live? Puppies are often testing their boundaries, learning what works and what doesn't work (in terms of behavior) to get them attention and fun.  Some dogs do have serious anxiety but with most dogs (especially young ones like yours) this behavior happens because they are bored and want to have fun.   What kind of toys does she have? Does she play with them when you are gone?  What kind of exercise do you give her and how often?  Young dogs need a lot of exercise ane interaction and that is often the first step to take... making sure she is getting enough.  This website might be helpful: https://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/behavioral/c_dg_destructive_behavior

I recommend you visit malenademartini.com -- One of our foremost Separation Anxiety experts here in the USA.  Destroying exits when confined *is* often a symptom of SA, and certainly could be a sign at least of confinement anxiety.  My field of expertise is fearful/traumatized and feral dogs, and I would not try to diagnose here anyway, but I think it is important to discuss it with a specialist in the field.  This kind of behavior gets too many dogs surrendered or otherwise harmed and if it is SA or CA, it won't resolve on its own.  Good luck.
