Looking to hear from shelters that currently house pairs in a kennel in lost and found to benefit the animals' welfare or group housing. Do we really need to worry about gender since the animals will be fixed?, Should we consider housing the animals together at intake? Are there any new update AVS guidelines for co-housing? Is anyone doing this well and see good results in the behavior of the animals they intake? Does anyone have best practices on the weight and size of animals to co-house in a double side kennel run.
We currently co-house small dogs for welfare reason when needed already I am looking to improve the welfare of our larger dog population.
