    Hello Everyone,

I wanted to reach otu and get everyone's opinion on the new mask mandates or lack their of.  Are any of you making masks optional?

Currently at our clinic we are transitioning from curbside to letting clients back in the exam rooms with thier pets.

We are still using digital forms and will still sanitize in between clients, wash hands and all other satey precautions.

In my area the  Mayor and other representatives in most areas have made masks optional. In our clinics we are going to adhere to that rule as well. Masks will be optional for staff and clients.

If  people still want to wear masks that is perfectly fine. I must admit I am a little leary about this however I want to start to get back to some sort of normalcy as well.

We will require staff to wear masks if they are exhibiting any covid like symptoms and must get tested before returning to work.  I am also welcoming more volunteers back into the clinics.

I'd love to hear what you all think and feel about this.

We just made mask wearing optional for staff and for clients in our lobby.  If clients want to be in the exam room with their
pet, they must wear a mask.

I think masks should still be required indoors. Especially since dogs and cats can catch covid too.  I still will wear mine and will not go in somewhere where there isn't masking.

Hi Marissa- so our governor in TN banned mask mandates back in January I believe, so we had to switch to "masks are recommended but not mandatory" as our official position. I have found though that as long as our leadership team has continued wearing masks, most of our staff has followed suit. So I would say it is important that the leadership team set the tone of what you want for your facility.

We are located in Ca, and are following the state and local guidelines. Masks are now optional for those that are fully vaccinated indoors. If you are not vaccinated, masks must be worn indoors at all times. Our whole staff is vaccinated and a good portion of our volunteers are as well so we are allowing people to make the choice indoors if they are vaccinated. We let volunteers and members of the public know that it is still highly recommended for fully vaccinated people to wear masks indoors, but they have the choice.

Here in NW Indiana we went "no mask" on Monday (2/28).  It's been a battle for our front desk the past couple of months as all the retail and restaurants in our area lifted their bans.  We are following the guidance of the CDC and if numbers in our area go up, we will return to masks.  I also told the staff that if anyone feels "under the weather" they are to wear a mask out of respect for their colleagues.

We are adhering to the CDC guidelines which are based on the "community level" by county.  Our county is rated HIGH so we're continuing to wear and require masks.    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html
