    Hi,

    Foster Job-Alike meetings are for people interested in pet foster care. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have have a foster-related job!  You can register for the meetings here.  Once you finish registration, a screen will pop up that will allow you to save the meeting invite to your calendar. 

    This thread will be your destination for all updates and discussions related to the Foster Job-Alike meetings. Before each meeting, we'll update this post with the agenda and speaker(s). After each meeting, this thread will be updated within 48 hours with the video recording, presentation slides and any resources that were shared during the call.

    We also hope that you will use this thread to continue the conversation with other job-alike members. If you think of something after the meeting that you'd like to share with the group or an idea for a future topic, share it with us here!

    Click the "Follow" button at the top right of the thread to be notified of new comments, recordings and to continue collaborating outside of our monthly meetings.

    Session Topic: Customer journey maps are used to map the relationship between a customer and an organization over time and across all channels on which they interact. Design teams use customer journey maps to see how customer experiences meet customers' expectations and find areas where they need to improve designs. In this meeting, you'll learn how you can do the same with foster processes.

    Session Topics: Library Cat Foster Program and Flight Paths for Shelter Dogs
    In this meeting, we'll hear about Rusk Pets Alive!'s foster partnership with their local library and Austin Pets Alive!'s Flight Paths program. 

    Flight Paths is a volunteer program designed to give the APA! animals most in need of assistance their best and most immediate chance at securing a foster or adoptive home by creating teams (Flight Crews) around each of those animals to: ensure they develop the life skills they need to be successful in homes; create and distribute marketing and promotional materials; develop intimate knowledge of their histories, behavior and/or medical challenges; prevent psychological and physical decline by protecting their health, safety and emotional well being; and, field inquiries from potential fosters and adopters.

    Session Topic: With an increase in dog fostering of 73% this year, there's a lot we can learn from Memphis Animal Services. At this meeting they'll be talking about how their foster, volunteer and communications staff work together to inspire their community to foster, how pets are marketed from foster homes and how they make the program a priority at their organization.

In this meeting, we'll hear from Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation's Medical Team about strategies they're using to ensure pets get the vaccines, preventives, and medical care they need…with an all-volunteer team.
    If there's time, we'll discuss AI and ways to use apps like Chat GPT to automate more of your workload.

    Hi everyone,

    There will be a few changes for our group that I wanted to tell you about. First, Maddie's Fund will be hosting our monthly foster meeting from now on. We'll be sending a new registration and meeting link in the next few weeks so that people who wish to continue can opt in (please note that the current Zoom link for upcoming meetings WILL NOT WORK). Stay tuned for more information!

    Session Topic: Becky will tell us how this foster-based rescue places a high volume of pets into foster homes while making it easy for the communities they work with to participate in fostering.
