    Hello Everyone,

I know that you all may have heard that during the month of March Petco was focused on vaccines and had given different clinics and organizations vaccines to use for the community. At LifeLine Animal Project we decided to host four free vaccine clinic events for the animals in our community. LifeLine decided to sponsor rabies vaccines so that participants would also not just get free distemper vaccines but stay in compliance with Georgia law. Participants were able to receive free distemper and rabies for thier cat or dog.  I am excited to say that our event went well.  We hosted the event at two of our clinics on March 12th and between both clinics we saw less than 200 pets. I know that does not sound like a lot however the weather was pretty bad ( freezing cold, snow flurries)so I felt the turn out was decent.  The event was held from 10-1pm.  The average wait time was around 20-25 minutes once the event started from what I gathered from  participants.

We will be hosting our second event on March 26th at both locations again. Hopefully the weather is nice and we have a bigger turn out. My goal is 200 per location for this event.  I'd love to hear if any of you are hosting free events for this campaign.  I am happy to answer any questions about our event if you have any.

The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society(www.mrfrs.org) in Salisbury MA also took advantage of this opportunity and helped 165 animals.  They used a booking system and had about 200 reservations and 165 showed up.   One of the organizations largest clinics within the last few years.

Whiskers TNR of Warren County is doing our first ever (cat only) vaccine clinic on Saturday, thanks to Petco.  We are providing the distemper vaccine for free and offering microchips and rabies vaccines for $6 each.   We are so excited to have this opportunity.  We became established in 2016 and have been working extremely hard to become successful with our work.  Last year we broke ground for our holding facility to house TNR cats pre- and post- spay/neuter surgery.  Our building, a small 20x30 space, will be the place for this vaccine clinic.  In the past few weeks, the walls and flooring have been completed.  The electrician will be out tomorrow to finish his work, and the plumber will come in 2-3 weeks.  We may be small, but we are resourceful!  We have 80 cats registered so far for the clinic on Saturday.  We are so excited that great things are happening for Warren County cats!

    Corissa,

That is so exciting to hear. Listen your space may be small but lots of great things happen in small spaces.   It is not about the amount of space that you have but how you maximize it and  I am sure you all will do just that.  I hope that you follow up and let us know how it went.  I wish you all the best of ukc and I know the event will be a success.

The City of Sacramento Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento, California has been holding free monthly vaccine, microchip, and pet resource clinics in our community since October of 2020.  We also provide rabies vaccinations to the owned pets.  Because of Petco Loves' generosity, we are holding clinics every weekend this month.  Last weekend we served 86 cats and 472 dogs.
