  • 1.  Do you ask for donations from corporate volunteer groups?

Hello! We are exploring the idea of asking for donations from corporate volunteer groups, in addition to the contribution of the work they are doing.

Is this something your organization does? Why or why not?

    If you do this:

How much do you ask for? Always the same amount, or more for larger groups?

Any advice or information you can provide is much appreciated!

    Hi Kimberly,

We are a little too small to accommodate corporate groups, so we don't do it often, however, we have been able to accommodate a few on a case by case in the past. We have asked for a donation and I absolutely think it is ok to do so. Most of the time corporate groups that are volunteering have funds set aside for that. If you have the ability to accommodate groups of that size, I would recommend coming up with a charge/fee structure. You could either structure it by group size or per person. Yes, they are helping you with their time, but they also have the resources to make a donation and are usually accustomed to that (at least in my limited experience, that has been the case), plus it does take additional staff time to train and oversee corporate groups. So you can justify the donation/fee in that way if needed. Hopefully, that is somewhat helpful.
