    Pay inequity in animal welfare has long resulted in burnout and high staff turnover. Instead of allowing it to continue, some organizations are finding ways to create livable wages and prioritize staff wellbeing in a high-stress environment.

    This week's network editorial covers how Best Friends and two shelters took on the challenge to increase pay as a way of demonstrating that it is not only possible but needed.

     Thank you so much for this post. I agree that pay or lack there of is a huge issue in animal welfare.  I definitely feel like we as an industry have a lot of work to do when it comes to pay. I hope a lot of organizations realize that change is needed and do the work to make it happen. Thanks so much for sharing.
