Mets  Pete Alonso with The Alonso Foundation will donate $1K to animal shelters.  I emailed them to see if I can apply and they mentioned that they will be doing the research and reaching out to shelters nationwide. No need to apply.

Thanks for sharing this! I am also a baseball fan (SF Giants!), and I had heard about it but didn't know how it works. We probably won't qualify because we're not a shelter or rescue, but it's at least worth a follow.

How does a rescue/shelter sign up for receipt of these home run funds from  the Alonso Foundation?  Is it only New York rescues? Garfield's Rescue is situated in Weems, VA. We are in an underserved rural region,  operating through a network of  private foster homes.  Ours is a homeless cat rescue, spay/neuter/vaccinate, foster to adopt charity. I saw nowhere in the Foundation's site where you could  enter your charity name to be a potential recipient of funds.
