I was curious to know what accounting software do you use?.
As we grow, we  need to start to use an accounting software to easily make reports.
This is a pivotal time for decision making for us as a young organization that just celebrated 1 year of formation just now in September

    Hiiii.

Congratulations on reaching such a pivotal stage of growth. It really is a big milestone for any young organization to begin considering accounting software, and the fact that you are already focusing on creating reports and making structured decisions shows how thoughtful you are about the future….

At Bubbles Dog Rescue we use Buzz to the Rescue. It has been very effective for us because it is built specifically with rescues in mind. It allows us to keep donor records, veterinary expenses, adoption information, and general finances in one connected system. The reporting features are strong and it gives us the structure we need to stay organized as we continue to expand. The only drawback is that it does come with a higher cost, which can be challenging for organizations that are still in their early stages.

That is why we also like to point out Pawlytics as an option. We have heard very positive feedback about it from other groups in the rescue world. Pawlytics offers many of the same essential tools for tracking finances and producing reports but at a price point that is easier for smaller or newer nonprofits to manage.

Both Buzz to the Rescue and Pawlytics can be excellent, it really comes down to the stage of growth your organization is in. Buzz has been a great fit for us now, while Pawlytics seems to be a strong choice for organizations that are just beginning to put formal systems in place.

    Good afternoon,

Looping back around on this topic. I would love to find an all-in-one cloud-based product to handle all functions of our sanctuary. Best software that includes accounting for a senior dog sanctuary. We also have forever fosters. TIA

We’ve been using QuickBooks for about two years now, and I like how easy it makes tracking grants and separating funds. The class tracking really helps us manage resource allocation better by showing where our money’s going for different programs. It’s also been helpful during audits since everything is already organized by project. I’m not an accountant, and I’ve still been able to keep things running pretty smoothly.

Congrats on growing! We currently use QuickBooks. It's been helpful for managing donations, adoption fees, medical expenses, and basic financial reporting. Curious to hear what others recommend as well!
