Wondering how many shelters have specific "Adoptability Guidelines"?
Our shelter is really taking a deep dive into what we truly have access to care for AND what our community is willing to take on.

Our goal is to utilize this to inform our decisions starting with intake,  and through an animals stay with us to ensure we are providing QOL while in shelter and making sure we are supporting our community through safe, well-placed animals.

If so, would anyone be willing to share your guidelines and experiences about how they help inform intake/outcome decision?

for context, we are a limited admission shelter caring for 3-4000 animals annually.

How wonderful that you are creating Adoptability Guidelines! They can be valuable alignment and decision-supporting tools.

ASPCA has sample Adoptability Guidelines for Cats and Dogs. Feel free to use them as templates or inspiration: https://www.aspcapro.org/behaviorpathway
