Is anyone else struggling to thank donors for their generosity through the Amazon Wishlist program? You used to be able to type in the code and it would allow you to thank the donor via Amazon, then they changed to a QR code (which was frustrating because you HAD to use your phone), but now the QR code only allows you to return or write a review. We have many donors who are not in our database but will send items via Amazon and I no longer have a way of thanking them.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to show gratitude?

    Mahalo!

I contacted Amazon about this issue and they were not helpful or sympathetic. They claimed it's to protect the consumer's privacy. I find this hard to believe because you didn't learn any additional information about the donor using the thank you tool. It sounds like we are using the same process that you were using, reviewing the names on any receipts received and determining if they are in your donor database. I'd love to know if anyone else has come up with other ideas as well. I hate that we're not thanking these donors.

Taking photos of items received and doing a public thank you on social media can be helpful. You can add that it's items from Amazon, but since you don't get information from them to do individual thank you notes, you are saying thank you this way. Not everyone who donates will see it of course, but many will, and it'll show your appreciation. :)

That is exactly what we do.  We will just do a social media post with the pictures and describe some of the items and just say we do not know who this was from but it is greatly appreciated..

We do this as well! If the first name of the donor is included we will also say "thank you, X" for your donation.

Thank you for reaching out to Amazon, so frustrating. We will try to do more public posts, I know we have done that in the past with success. Was just hoping to find a personal way to thank people for their generosity.
