    Hi All,

My name is Harrison Porter and unlike many of you, work in a bit of a different role in the animal space, in healthcare fundraising. As part of my role, I work in helping raise crucial funds to promote the Human-Animal bond through our animal-assisted therapy program. We have roughly 80 volunteer teams who visit over 50,000 patients a year across our 10 hospitals.  I am new to this space as I have taken this on as a tribute project to my dad (who was a vet for 30+ years) who passed back in 2019 and was passionate about animal-assisted intervention.

So I humbly submit my questions to the group, with a white flag, an SOS banner, or even a big "Animal space for dummies" cliffnotes book request.

    • How are you fundraising for your programs?
    • Do any of you work in pet therapy/animal-assisted therapy space? If so, I would love to connect!
    • What kind of funders do you typically work with?
    • Any advice in connecting with the heart of animal-welfare supporters?
    • Any advice in general to someone new in the space?

Appreciate your insights, learnings, and time in responding.

    Be well!

    Thank you,

    Harrison Porter
