I had the opportunity to attend the Best Friends Virtual Summit last week, and it was an inspiring reminder of what's possible when passionate people come together for a common goal: ending the killing of dogs and cats in shelters nationwide.
The summit brought together advocates, shelter professionals, and animal lovers dedicated to making the U.S. a no-kill nation. Through powerful sessions, real-world success stories, and practical strategies, one message came through loud and clear: this goal is achievable, but only if we all play a part.
Achieving a no-kill status means saving at least 90% of the animals entering shelters, which requires community involvement, informed policy, and ongoing advocacy.
