A couple weeks ago I attended the Best Friends National Conference. Not only was it the first Best Friends Conference back in person since the start of COVID, but it was also just a week after my dad passed away unexpectedly. It was a rollercoaster of a week full of networking, learning, laughter, tears (a lot of tears) and delicious vegan food. Since attending the conference, I've had the opportunity to slow down and dissect everything that I learned through attending the Best Friends Conference Course with Southern Utah University.The course has allowed me to continue to network with other professionals in the industry and have the chance to learn and grown from each other. Though I originally got into the industry to save animals, I'm looking forward to implementing more strategies to keep pets out of the shelter to begin with, and providing resources for those that want to keep pets in the home with them.
