Through the agency that does our Worker's Comp insurance, they did find that Travelers offers a NonProfit Organization Directors and Officers Liability insurance. So, you may look there. That being said, I have been advised by at least 2 attorneys, that this insurance, in general, is not required because of Federal laws that protect non-profit boards as long as they are working in the best interest of the organization. A board or member, cannot be sued. I do not know the exact citation for this, been on my things to do, but one lawyer, my personal, felt it is a good idea anyway. If, for example, you find your treasurer is committing fraud, they would not be protected by either Federal Law or the insurance regardless.

Subject: Board insurance
We are in nj and are a 501c3. We really need to buy Insurance to protect our board members from litigation, should such ever arise. We also need insurance for injury and other impacts for fosters. I have had a hard time locating companies that offer such services and the one I did find quoted me eye watering premiums. We are all volunteers with revenues from adoption fees and donations only. Any suggestions would be gratefully received
