  • 1.  Calmer Canine Anxiety Treatment Device

    Posted 04-20-2023 04:52 PM

    Hello!

Has anyone had any experience with the Calmer Canine Anxiety Treatment Device?  It's a device that is supposed to reduce anxiety in dogs through "targeted, pulsed electro-magnetic field therapy".  They talk a lot about treating separation anxiety - which if it's true could be an amazing benefit.

Would love to know if anyone out there has tried this before and, if so, what your results were??

    Thanks!

My dog trainer colleagues and I have not seen any success with it at this time. A common experience was also that wearing the device was stress-inducing for anxious/fearful dogs, despite gradual exposure and desensitization. I would be interested in hearing from others though!

Thanks for weighing in! We got some at a discount and were going to give them a try. As a trial run, I was actually going to use one on my own dog who suffers from separation anxiety and stranger danger, to see if there was any effect while using it in a home environment.

I'm a little skeptical, but funny enough, our veterinarian is really excited about it. She uses an Assisi Loop a lot and has had good success with it. Fingers crossed!

I have looked into it and attended an anxiety webinar where the loop was mentioned (not working). From what I understand,  it is noninvasive like laser therapy and the target is local to fight inflammation and promote healing through NO (nitrogen oxide). I upload references of some research on the loop. There are some evidence that it might work but the verdict is still out. I would be interested to hear baout your experience with it.
