Can you help with Cat Rehabilitation?

    Hi Everyone,

We're located in Toledo, Ohio. We're Toledo's only no kill all feline shelter. With that being said we have a very unique grown cat that needs rehabilitation and no one in our area seems available to take him. We're happy to let a rehab person be a foster until the cat is able to be adopted out OR a referral to a sanctuary that will give him a forever home.  I'm asking for any referrals in Northern Ohio, Southern Michigan, or Eastern Indiana. Only someone experienced please.  Here is Tanner's Story:

Tanner was found by the local sheriffs in a tent with a dog and his deceased owner, who had committed suicide.  They believe the animals had been with the deceased for 5 to 7 days. Tanner was turned over to us by the sheriff's department. Tanner was very shy and aggressive upon intake. Only a few individuals could go near him or handle him. Unfortunately, Tanner has attacked and seriously hurt several people at our shelter. He has been with us since 8-12-2023.  He needs someone who is experienced at cat behavior and rehabilitation to be patient and kind with him or a sanctuary that will take him.  (Repeating, we are a no kill shelter, he will not be put down.) He has all his vaccines, has been neutered, receives flea treatments and is microchipped.

My email is MaryM@pawsandwhiskers.org please email me with referrals for Tanner's rehabilitation or a sanctuary that would take him.  I have fallen in love with this big boy and only want to see him have a good life.

    Thank you!

    ~Mary
