    Posted 02-12-2024 06:29 AM

There are 3 more weeks left in CARE's series. Make sure you register ahead to tune in for free!

Why is it important to attend?

    1. We can't move forward without looking at our past.
    2. Learn something new.
    3. You get to meet African American professionals in the field that you may have never met before.

Our entire month is dedicated to raising awareness of the lack of Black Veterinarians in our country. The number is currently under 2%. CARE is in its 3rd year in raising scholarship funds for Dr. Jodie G. Blackwell Scholarship. All donations for the month of February go towards the scholarship. Thanks for Maddie's Fund and Tito's Vodka for Dog People, we have $75,000 already.

    THIS WEEK!

Thursday, February 15th, 6:00 pm EST

In this segment, Dr. Luna and Johnny Jenkins will discuss significant historical figures you may not know about due to our historic and modern-day inequities. As we know, there is still much work to do, especially considering the Human and Animal Well-being space.

As much as I am delighted in your efforts for Black History Month and your scholarships and the money you have raised, that is impressive! Let's just keep in mind that the pets do NOT see color, they know you by sense of smell! They know the sound of your car when YOU come home, they know your VOICE...they do NOT care  what color you are?  The beauty of the judgement-free zone, pets are smarter than us! JUST LOVE IT!

    Mary,

Thank you for your message. You are absolutely correct, Pet's don't see color. It's humans that do. We do hope to see you on any and all of Thursday's discussions.
