    Hi all,
I am in the process of looking for a new CRM for my donor database, we currently use Salsa but heard its being sunsetted at the end of the year.  I am curious what software you may use? I have been researching and like Bloomerang but its a bit pricey.

    Thank you for your feedback!

I don't recommend Kindful. It creates too many duplicates and doesn't do a good job of helping you clean up duplicates. Then, they turn around and charge you for the number of profiles!

We currently use Trail Blazer, it is way more than we need.  It has just about every functionality you could want, their tech support is top notch, and if you plan on digging deep into your donor data, segmenting your donors, A/B testing, and having extensive tracking, LY/SYBUNT outreach, etc. it is a great program.

However, it's user interface isn't great, and if you're literally doing just donor records and email/mail list output, it's probably significantly more expensive than you need.  We're looking to transition out due to the cost as we don't use 75% of its functionality.

I've used Raiser's Edge in the past, it's also deep in functionality and has the added benefit of being able to integrate with your banking system for low cost credit card processing if you're a very big organization.  If not, it's also way too expensive to recommend.

For smaller businesses, Little Green Light has some pretty good functionality.  It's way less expensive and handles all of the basics really well.  Definitely liked that one if you're just looking for basic donor CRM.

Haven't used Bloomerang but it and LiveImpact are both well rated in the space.  They also have the added advantage of having volunteer management modules so if that's helpful it might be worth the extra cost.

We are a very small TNR group so it's just me as the only employee and 6 volunteers, I do all of the admin, one board member does all of the thank-you letters, and another board member inputs the incoming paper checks so this is a very small operation. We didn't have a CRM for the first 15 years or so, just started Little Green Light three years ago and it's been great. The learning curve is pretty minimal, the price is reasonable, and it does most of what we want it to do. It's made my life about a million times easier having it, certainly.

Hey Jacqueline,  I'm Board President of a small NPO Cat Rescue in TN (purrfectmatchcatrescue.org)  We're a lot like you in no paid folks, just 35 passionate volunteers. Could you tell me a little more about Little Green Light and if they have a website?  We need a CRM and this sounds perfect.  Thanks so much and many blessings for the work you're doing with street cats in Boston!
