  • 1.  Day Fosters

    We are starting a day foster program in addition to our daily walking program and traditional fosters.  We'd like to hear about any successes or challenges of having the public be able to day foster (rather than having to have been a volunteer for some time). We're nervous about there being problems with the public.

    Many thanks for this information! We are a rural Mississippi no-kill shelter in constant need of fosters and volunteers. It's tough to get folks to understand the need and to commit to fostering. Day fostering is a fantastic idea and a great way to build this. Since we are not funded by the city and there are no paid staff, we are funded strictly through donations; it is problematic to sell the community on furthering their time donations to fostering. And the dogs need this. This is valuable info for us!  Thanks so much for posting!
