DEIJ in a small, mostly white community

I work with a small but might humane society and we struggle when answering questions around DEIJ in our community. We are an area of about 95% white in ethnicity and we are in a somewhat rural place. We have inclusive practices for adoption and volunteering. Our board is mainly white which reflects our community at large. The board, staff and volunteers are mainly residents of our immediate area and have a variety of backgrounds, strengths and interests. I'm not sure what else we can do to show or explain that we understand, respect and incorporate the aspects of DEIJ in all that we do. Maybe I just need to learn more what funders are looking for or better ways to describe our organization and community.

Thanks for any insights. I'm pretty new to grant writing and this is definitely one area I struggle with.
