Does anyone have any ideas for Easter fundraising or enrichment? We're planning  an Easter Egg hunt for the dogs but are looking for more ideas.

Our Board has been discussing opportunities like having a Easter Buddy (vs. bunnies since we'd just be putting cute bunny ears on puppies) Races for puppy basket prizes and photo ops with pups dresses for the occasion. We think it's a great opportunity for social media exposure, adoption opportunities, and enrichment for the pups as well as volunteers.

A bunny race with the puppies wearing bunny ears sounds cute.  Would you also use that as a fundraiser, and if so, how? I can certainly see how the rest fits in. Thanks!

A way you could turn the puppy race into a fundraiser is have people "bid" on who they think will be the winner. It would be all in fun, and the winner could even just get credit and a picture with the winning puppy or something small like a nice easter goodie basket. If possible you could get a local business to donate a basket.

Last year we asked for people to foster rabbits instead of buying them and it was a huge success. My shelter is always over capacity with rabbits and adoption events have never been successful for our rabbits. This is a great way to educate people about caring for a rabbit, reducing the number of rabbits at the shelter and we had a few fosters adopt their rabbits.

We have always wanted to do an Easter Stroll - pay a fee and walk your dog down the historic main street.   We would give prizes for the best Easter hat, look likes,  etc.
I have a plan for the event, but we do not have enough volunteers.

That's a really cute idea! Will save it.  You're right, it would take a lot of coordination and volunteer involvement. But could be done with time to plan it, I think.  Thanks for the idea.

    Hi Kathleen, we do

photos with the Easter bunny partnering with a local pet supply store. Not a ton of $$ but good exposure for the dogs and fun.  We get about $1500. Maybe partner with a store?

    hope this helps!!

Hi Kathleen -- We are selling pet Easter baskets. This is a first time effort, so don't know how successful it will be. But we have a lot of pet toys, cute special collars,  pet costumes, etc., that have been donated to our shelter.  So we're going to fill  (inexpensive) Easter baskets with toys, collars, treats inside plastic eggs, etc.  Folks can see sample baskets and order (and pay) on our website.  We'll customize each basket as much as possible  (for either dog or cat, male or female, collar size, etc.) and people can pick the baskets up at our shelter.

There is a group in my area (Louisville, KY) that does an Easter fundraiser. They raise money by having people sign up to have eggs hidden in their own yards. They call it "Egg my yard". Cute idea and must do well enough for them because they continue to do it each year.

I love all the ideas shared here! Thanks for those who have chimed in.

We went low key and simply shared a graphic for a "Spring Supply Drive" with items we need to fill our foster families pantries.

We asked people to bring their donations to one of our upcoming public events or use one of our wish lists (Amazon or Chewy).
