Hi Everyone, posting from the UK! I am the Fostering Manager for the RSPCA, so there are multiple sites across England and Wales who are all doing fostering in some way. I'm looking into developing a Foster Mentor volunteer role, in order to better support our foster carers. I'm thinking more experienced foster carers would be the target for this role, who can impart their knowledge and provide reassurance for less experienced foster carers. Does anyone have examples of this sort of role? Or tips for things to do and things to avoid? It would be a brand new volunteer role for the organisation so I'm keen to take my time looking into it first
