  • 1.  Fundraising in difficult economy

Hello - just wanted to add that this has been a particularly difficult year in terms of the traditional fundraising paths. Our nonprofit has had to be creative to develop new relationships and avenues to provide funding.  We would love to see a combined creative effort, with the participation of lots of organizations, in a national fundraising drive. Just wondering what that would look like and what partners might be available corporately to be able to support that effort.

It is a difficult time for fundraising and it seems our traditional approaches are less effective,. but the strong holiday buying numbers posted in the last few days make me think there is good potential for donations before the end of the year. I've seen local rescues and shelters hosting pet pictures with Santa priced between $15 and $40 per pet. Others are selling Etsy style pet accessory's on their websites at what I hope is a good mark up. We have found that corporate partnerships and in-kind donations have been a lifesaver.
