Has anyone used Grant Station or another grant database recently? Tech Soup has an upcoming sale on GS and I'm trying to decide if it is a good investment or if we should pur our money toward a different database, or none at all. The only grant we've recieved thus far is a local Wal-mart grant (application is super simple), but we've been applying for more grants to try to scale up our programs for the communities we serve. Is there anything in these databased that I can't find elsewhere already listed for free?

I think it is a worthwhile investment.  Good insight and help as well as the data base.  You receive one grant and it will have paid for itself!

We've been subscribed to Grant Station through TechSoup for two years now. It is definitely worth the investment for the tips and insights. We have won a couple smaller grants that we've found through them as well.

I signed up for Grant Station briefly, but was disappointed. But it was mostly because I'd already done a ton of research about available grants, and didn't find anything new on their list. So, if you've already found a lot of options, it's not worth it. But I'm sure it would save a ton of time if you haven't.

I agree with all three of the responders...  If you extensive research on your own, and that is all you want, then perhaps is not useful, as Cheryl mentions.  However, there are good articles and insights make it useful especially for novice grant seeker.  I do still periodically use it for searches... It is not expensive and for the cost I believe we get good value out of keeping the subscription.
