I need help-insight and resources!
We started our rescue just over two years ago. In some ways, things are going well-or at least well enough. But at times it feels like we take one step forward only to fall half a step back because of delays in getting back to whatever the "urgent task of the moment" is.
Progress has been frustratingly slow when it comes to getting all the moving parts integrated and working together. I handle the administrative side of the organization, and while we've finally built a small core of wonderful volunteers, the group is still far smaller than we need. Recruitment continues to feel like a cycle that never quite gains enough momentum.
Along the way, I've had to learn more new software systems than I ever expected. Now, thanks to a recent donation, we've decided to invest in finally strengthening and finishing the pieces that keep stalling out.
Here's where I could really use some guidance:
-
Shelterluv, Rescue Groups, and PetFinder: Have you found hands-on support or training for setting these up effectively? We've been marketing our animals in other ways, but we urgently need to get these systems fully operational.
-
QuickBooks: I know Intuit offers some support for cleaning up what organizations load into QuickBooks, but beyond that I'm unsure what resources are available.
-
Google Workspace: We need a better setup so that the right people can access shared information and resources seamlessly.
If you've been through this, what worked for you? Any insights or resources would be invaluable.
Sincerely,
Jean Harman
