Thank you for posting. That sounds like a huge victory for that trailer park. How many trappers participated? Did you have a vet in a mobile van that did the S/Ns?

We organized a specific Trapapalooza event in a retiree mobile home community and opened it up to multiple trappers from a couple other organizations we have worked with. It was a 3 day event in the middle of July so we had rotating trappers and organizers from morning until late nights with breaks during the day. Since this was the height of kitten season, we had one empty mobile home that we used as a staging area with half dozen kennels set up for kittens we were diverting into rescue. The trappers we brought on we already had relationships with and they knew the overall plan. Within 3 days we had successfully TNRd over 45 cats and rescued 43 kittens.
Trapping can be lonely at times - you can be out late at night by yourself so getting a group together was actually really fun and a nice networking event for the trappers and organizers. It was also eye opening to the residents of the mobile home community that there were so many of us doing this work to make their community a calmer environment for everyone.

And yes I know Animal Welfare Program has a resource drive that is very timely on this topic. I will be watching it closely for ideas.

I was just given a contact of a mayor that is interested in having trappers do a town wide TNR program to help get the community cats under control. It will take a massive coordination of trappers from different organizations as well as vets. I plan to go back and watch the Neighborhood Cats/Community Podcast archive webinars: Targeted TNR and Getting the Most Bang for your Buck" and "Mobilizing the Community to Make TNR Happen" (Community Cat Care Training & Education - The Community Cats Podcast) But I was hoping to learn from any of you who have experience doing anything like this. What were your pitfalls, lessons learned, and what worked well?
