Animal Welfare Professionals

Hello all, Jamie Brianna's Legacy Fund raises money to help fund various shelter programs. Our main focus is on keeping pets and their people together. However, I'm also extremely passionate about cats and am wondering how I personally can help save them.  Far more cats than dogs are being killed in shelters and I don't understand why.Aside from TNR and community cat programs, I have noticed on social media that a LOT of shelters feature way more dogs than cats, why is that? There are also a lot more dog specific rescues than cat specific rescues.  Is there something I can do to help get cats the attention they deserve?

I'm a board member of The National Kitten Coalition (NKC), and we work to save kittens and transform their lives through the power of education. Perhaps NKC's resources at kittencoalition.org would be helpful to you. As far as personally helping cats, have you considered fostering kittens or supporting those who do? It's so rewarding. Thank you, Nancy, I will definitely check out your resources. As for fostering, yes I am currently fostering a hospice kitty.
