Does anyone have an example of an acknowledgment letter for "in honor of" and "in memory of" donations they'd be willing to share? We have had ours be one and the same and the verbiage is awkward, so hoping to get some other groups' acknowledgement letters as a starting point. Thank you!

We have used the following.  I am sure there are better versions.

    To the donor:
Thank you for the donation in XXX's memory (or honor).  Your donation in honor of XXX will assist us with helping the animals of Mississippi County.
Because of your donation, we will continue to be the voice of the voiceless.

To the family of the honoree:
A donation was made to Mended Paws Sanctuary in memory of (honor of) XXX. The donation was provided by XXX. This donation will assist us with helping the animals of Mississippi County.  With this blessing, we will continue to be the voice of the voiceless.

I look forward to seeing what others do.

    We do different letters.

For the family of the deceased:

Please accept our deepest condolences on your loss.

Thank you for choosing the our shelter to honor the celebration of XXX's life. We have received donations in memory of XXX from the XXX's, the XXX's and the XXX's.

Thank you also for your generosity and thoughtfulness, and may God bless you and your family in this difficult time.

    To the donor:

Thank you for your generous donation to our shelter in memory of XXX. Your thoughtful contribution is not only a beautiful tribute to his memory, but also a beacon of hope for the countless lost pets we serve each year.

Our deepest condolences for the loss of XXX. It is evident that his love and compassion extended not only to his friends and family, but also to animals in need. Your decision to honor XXX's memory through a donation to our shelter is a testament to his and your kindness and values.

Your support will go a long way in providing essential care, shelter, and medical assistance to the lost pets that come through our doors. Your contribution will help us continue our vital work of rescuing and rehabilitating animals, finding them loving homes, and promoting responsible pet ownership within our community.

Losing a loved one is never easy, and we hope that knowing their memory lives on through your donation brings you solace and sense of connection. Your donation will not only benefit the animals in our care, but also serve as a lasting tribute to XXX.

Once again, thank you for your generosity during this difficult time. We are grateful for your compassion and kindness.

We have been doing bricks, and for a set price, or if enough money is donated in memory of, then we ask the family what they would like on their brick. It's been an ongoing fund raiser for 8 years. Not only are the bricks "IM" but some use them for getting their business out there in a donation brick, and some do it for their rainbow bridge canines.
