Thanks, Jenna. The primary help I need right now is amplifying the research survey through shelter and rescue social media networks. But, I will use the virtual office hours in the near term.

Subject: Ongoing Dog Adoption Decision-Making Research
I'm currently working on my dissertation focused on the decision-making process for shelter & rescue dog adoptions. The goal is to understand which dog feature (age, behavior, size, or activity level) may drive "Adopt/Not Adopt" decision the most by using an experiment-based survey. I also want to see which dog features may be related to uncertainty, which can negatively impact decision-making.
I'm doing an online recruitment campaign on Facebook, Instagram & LinkedIn for 300+ participants that are:
- 18+ years old
- Actively considering adoption and are searching for a dog
- Have not adopted within the 90 days of their participation.
Support the research in at least one of three ways:
- Like, Share, and Follow the research on social media on your organizational and personal accounts
- FB: Dog Adoption Decision-Making
- IG: @dogadoptionresearch
- LinkedIn: Lawrence Minnis
- Promote research participation on your websites, foster communication networks, and onsite at your adoption campuses.
- Link to the anonymous survey on Qualtrics
- Request a marketing kit with a QR Code, media images/videos, and other resources
- Participate if you fit the aforementioned participant eligibility requirements
I am creating a ton of dog adoption-related content on social media, including a weekly creative video highlighting stories of dogs' pathways into and through shelters and rescues. There are videos about eviction, relationship break-ups, "Christmas Gift" pets, and more.
If you have an interesting storyline you'd like created into a video or story idea to suggest, feel free to drop them in a comment on this discussion board.
When all is done, I plan to do another Community Conversation about the research findings to follow up on my 2023 CC presentation about dog adoption decision-making (see below).
